WSET Level 2 Award in Sake
This 2-day course will teach you about the different types of sake and the production of them and you will try the different main types of sake.
What you’ll learn:
- How to describe and assess sake quality using WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting Sake (SAT).
- Sake ingredients: Required vs. optional ingredients, including sake rice varieties.
- Processing materials: How steamed white rice and kōji are prepared, rice polishing ratios, and kōji styles.
- Sake production: Key techniques from fermentation to dilution and packaging, with a focus on style choices.
- Common labeling terms, including key Japanese terms.
The course consists of both theoretical sessions and tasting sessions.
