International Class for Culinary Arts (foundation program)

Do you dream of becoming a Michelin chef? Maybe start your own restaurant or café? Or maybe you just want to work with Nordic Cuisine in a booming industry, where new restaurants pop up every month and the demand for trained professionals is higher than ever?

This is the place to start.

As a trained chef, you will have numerous possibilities: a wide range of jobs within the food and produce industry in Denmark, but also the opportunity to work abroad – both as a trainee and after you finish your education.

Introduction to professional cooking

The International Class for Culinary Arts is a 20-week introduction to professional cooking, corresponding to the Danish Grundforløb for gastronom.

During this education you will learn cooking skills, first-aid and food hygiene. You will work with seasonal produce, sustainability and ecology, all the while attaining qualifications in Danish.

Passionate about food?

The program caters to students who are passionate about cooking and wish to work in the food industry as trained chefs or caterers, but lack sufficient language skills to enroll in the Danish foundation program.

All classes are taught in English, except for Danish language classes, which are mandatory for all students who do not have documentation for Danish at level E.

When you complete the program, you will be able to seek an apprenticeship as a chef trainee and enroll in the main culinary program (hovedforløb).

Please note that only the foundation program is taught in English. The main culinary program is taught in Danish.
