Leadership in the hotel and restaurant industry requires overview, clear communication, and the ability to foster well-being and motivation among coworkers - even under pressure. At the programme, you will gain practical tools to handle everyday leadership tasks with greater confidence and professionalism.

You will learn to communicate clearly, lead meetings and make them meaningful, manage conflicts and much more, with a constant focus on promoting motivation and well-being, both in daily operations and during times of change and challenges. You also get to to develop your own personal leadership style and learn how to adapt to different types of employees and situations.

The course is in English.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is for industry professionals who often find themselves in situations that require responsibility and leadership, regardless of whether you hold a formal management title or not. It is developed based on the realities and everyday life of an industry where the pace is high, collaboration is close, and leadership tasks can often be complex.

You will meet and exchange experiences with like-minded peers, and the course is guided by experienced instructors with expertise in both general leadership and the day-to-day work in hotels, restaurants, large-scale kitchens, etc.

Certificate

The programme includes a written exam, and a certificate is awarded upon completion.

Learn to engage the new generation

The Basic Leadership Programme also includes an additional development day, where we dive into the different generations working side by side in the workplace—and how upbringing, values, and expectations influence collaboration, motivation, and leadership.

We take a closer look at what characterizes the generations—not to learn how to “manage Generation Z,” but to become better at leading individuals. Because while there may be common traits across generations, a good leader is still one who meets each employee with curiosity, understanding, and situational leadership.

The day provides insight into the differences and strengths that can arise in interactions between generations, and how, as a leader, you can create well-being, collaboration, and engagement across age, experience, and perspectives.

Useful information

Food on the school

While taking a course at the school, you have several options for lunch.

  • The Restaurant. Employees, pupils, and course participants can eat a lunch menu made by our gastronomy pupils, and served by our waiter pupils.
  • Spisehuset. This is our canteen where you will find affordable green food.
  • Kaffebaren. This is the place to buy sandwiches, salads, fruit, and coffee.
  • Madboderne. When our pupils have made food, bread, ice cream, and cake - this is where you can taste it for yourself.

Smoke-free school

We have smoke free time at the school for everyone. That includes all social events, and it also applies outside of the school. 

The restriction bans all tobacco products including cigarettes, e-cigarrettes, and chewing tobacco.

Uniforms

If you have lessons in the kitchen, you have to wear an approved uniform. You can bring your own or borrow one from the school.
